Millennium Fellowship Project: Ending Sexual Harrasment in Higher Learning Institutions
The Campus Me Too project is focused on eliminating sexual harrasment in learning institutions in Kenya, including the widely reported practice of lecturers pressuring students to excange sexual acts fo good grades. Student leaders with support from project partners have developed a set of demands that will see to it that the Ministry of Education develops a binding and trasnparent procedure for the eradication of Sexual harrasment practices across the country.This project aims to empower students to break the silence on sexual harrasment and stand up for their academic rights, to ensure that they get quality education for self reliance.
About the Millennium Fellow
Eunita Nafula is a young, intelligent and resourceful pre-gender and development student at Kenyatta University,Nairobi, Kenya. She was born in a small town in the Western region in Kenya and is currently studying in one of the best universities in her country.
Since time memorial, Eunita has always had a passion in advocacy on matters rights- civil, political, economic of men, women, children and the vulnerable in the society. She prides herself in being at the forefront in creating awareness and taking part in forums whose main focus is providing solutions to the existing social injustices in the community.This passion has since translated itself from Eunita's experiences in the community and her continous dedication to social action.
Throughout her high school and now, university years, she has successfully organized and taken part in various philantrophic projects and social justice movements, which have had commendable results to her target groups. She intends to continue with the same spirit in future.
Eunita aspires to be in a professional field where she can cultivate these advocacies further and gain necessary skills and knowledge that will enable her to provide her own contributions in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
