" Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will go a long way in giving me a platform to educate the community about mental health and wellness. My creativity and critical thinking skills will be challenged and therefore enhanced. I hope to gain skills that will help me raise awareness and make an impact that is in accordance with the SDGs and UNAI principles. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The ABCs of mental health

The project seeks to create awareness on mental health among people who are unable to get this information easily. Psychoeducation goes a long way in curbing mental health problems.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sharon was born and raised in Kenya. She's currently a psychologist student at Kenyatta University. She's very passionate about social justice and mental health. She believes that preventative and promotional mental health care will go a long way in sustaining good mental health. Early diagnosis and treatment go a long way in the management of mental illnesses. She also believes in gender equity rather than gender equality, even though she says she has benefitted from the latter. That's a conversation for another day, haha.
