In addition, this program will enhance my organization and planning skills and decision-making skills which are assets in this century. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: DentHygiene

DentHygiene aka MenoSafi is a Health project aims to empower School going children (class 4 to class 8) on the importance of good oral hygiene and encourage brushing of tooth twice a day.
In Kenya, most children have never visited a dentist and have dental problems by the time they reach kindergarten. In addition, oral health issues are among the leading cause of absenteeism in schools. Tooth decay evokes aesthetic and functional complaints in children. Oral health problems have effects on children like chewing and speech impairment, preschool absence, psychological concerns, and decline in school performance. These problems can be reduced if proper mitigation measures are put in place.
