ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

I actually do the giving back to the community and society activities because I feel that someone touched my life by sponsoring and catering for education expenses and I should inturn go back and delivery. It's also dream to others happy and succeed in life. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Dunia Bora Initiative

Dunia Bora is a collective initiative launced by Millennium Fellows at Moi University that offers training and mentorship to primary and high school children. During their outreach, the cohort at Moi University focused on peace education, health particularly mental and oral health through partnerships and support from bodies such as Heroes for Change were we able to offer these children a token of appreciation for their time in the form of books and toothpaste. The team also managed to have a tree planting exercise with the children in a bid to promote sound environmental practices.

About the Millennium Fellow

Joseph Kinama is an upcoming brilliant young leader who is passionate about leadership and giving back to the community and the society at large. He was born in Kwale county in Kenya, Africa and raised by a single mum after his father passed in the year 2006. He serves many positions at his such as being the Global YESIST (Young endavors for social innovation using sustainable technology) Ambassador, Kenya. He is also the class representative of computer science students in his class. He is a member of GADS (Google Africa Developer scholarship), a scholarship beneficiary at power Africa conference. In 2021, Joseph organised the Kenya IEEE virtual summit 2021 as the industrial liaison ambassador. He is a volunteer mentor at equity group foundation where he mentors young students for them to realise their dreams in life. He is the founder of an upcoming non profit organization known as Hon.kinash Foundation and he is in his final year of study pursuing Bsc.Computer science.
