ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" Throughout my journey in various educational institutions, I have always been taught that giving back to the community is what makes you a complete individual. UN Millennium Fellowship provides me with this robust platform to supply me with exposure to how social workers and individuals striving towards
community welfare function. Being a part of my college’s entrepreneurship club, it has always been my desire to establish a social organization and initiate my venture as a social entrepreneur. In doing so, I wish to acknowledge greater endeavours for my local community. In order for me to be successful in the long run, Millennium Fellowship will offer me the medium to enhance and evolve the vital skills required for any social entrepreneur before one’s genuine approach. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Simplify to Amplify with Youth (S.A.Y)

Simplify to Amplify with Youth (S.A.Y) is a student-based venture that aims to develop a change in our local community by creating awareness towards pressing issues like climate change, sustainability and responsible lifestyle. Through our venture, we effectively aim at promoting SDGs 11, 12 and 13 mainly where we minimize an individual’s carbon footprint.

About the Millennium Fellow

Ankit Stephen Thomas has always been enthusiastic and usually associated with being adaptable and flexible. Born to explore and travel all corners of the world and possessing qualities like optimism, generosity, creativity and open-mindedness which are positive traits to help in any workplace, Ankit is a name to reckon with. Ankit has always found subjects like physics and chemistry very interesting which sparked his curiosity to strive towards sustainable development using science and technology. Topics like sustainability, energy conservation and management and nanotechnology have always fascinated Ankit and he is certain to specialize in these 3 sectors respectively.
