" The social impact that the Millennium Fellow Program wants to encourage is exactly the kind of effort needed in this world right now. The pandemic has displaced many people everywhere and it is very important to reinstate the values of humanity and perseverance and the idea of making this happen excites me. The program is a huge platform, just the kind needed to make a sustainable impact in society. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Students for Sustainable Living
Under the title ‘Students for Sustainable Living’, the Millennium Fellows of NMIMS, Mumbai aim to create awareness about sustainability and sustainable practices. The project focuses on 3 of the 17 SDGs, namely 11, 12 and 13, which are Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Production and Consumption and Climate Action respectively. We want to engage our fellow students in this initiative by organizing beach clean-ups, conducting webinars and workshops with experts in the field, and other activities. Through our independent student newsletter and the university website, we aim to raise awareness and encourage students to carry this initiative into their own homes and immediate surroundings. These webinars and articles will guide them through the process of switching to sustainable products in daily life, and how this can be done in an easy and cost effective manner.

Coming from an IBDP curriculum and finding himself at a Liberl Arts School, Kameel has has a very deep rooted connection with humanities and social studies. He aspires to be a clinical psychologist one day, because helping people has always been at the centre of everything that he does.
