Millennium Fellowship Project: Students for Sustainable Living
Under the title ‘Students for Sustainable Living’, the Millennium Fellows of NMIMS, Mumbai aim to create awareness about sustainability and sustainable practices. The project focuses on 3 of the 17 SDGs, namely 11, 12 and 13, which are Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Production and Consumption and Climate Action respectively. We want to engage our fellow students in this initiative by organizing beach clean-ups, conducting webinars and workshops with experts in the field, and other activities. Through our independent student newsletter and the university website, we aim to raise awareness and encourage students to carry this initiative into their own homes and immediate surroundings. These webinars and articles will guide them through the process of switching to sustainable products in daily life, and how this can be done in an easy and cost effective manner.
About the Millennium Fellow
Siddharth Joshi is a young, ordinary liberal arts student with strong aspirations, studying at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. He was born in India and resides there, however he has strong desires to see more of the world. Siddharth has gradually come to realize the state of the world as impacted by climate change and environmental degradation and wishes to somehow reverse its effects on a global scale. To accomplish a goal of this magnitude, Siddharth joined the Millennium Fellowship to engage in a platform dedicated to the pursuit of such goals. Creating a professional career to further progress towards SDGs is his vision.
