ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" I believe that empathy is the most important human trait as it helps us support each other. Being a Millennium Fellow means I have the opportunity to be a part of a community that understands the value of empathy and make use of the same by working for others by understanding their needs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Crayons

The project crayons worked in furtherance of SDG 3 and 4 by creating mental health awareness, sexual harrassment awareness, suicide prevention and also confidence building for school students between the age of 13 to 15 who are studying at government schools in Kerala. Inorder to ensure that the workshops conducted are effective teahchers and perents were encouraged to be a part of the audience. A child psychologist and a cognitive psychologist headed the interactive sessions conducted for the students in online mode.The contacts of the said psychologists were shared to the teacher coordinator of the class attending the session do that the students and school authorities can reach out to them whenever necessary.Feedback was collected from the students and teachers after each session inorder to improve the sessions and make them more effective.

About the Millennium Fellow

Sreelakshmi KM is a senior law student intending to pursue her passion for psychology and social work. She has worked on multiple human rights projects for supporting prisoners and guest labourers. She is also passionate about animals and is currently volunteering at an animal welfare organisation. Her hobbies include making handicrafts and reading. She intends to use all the experiences she gained from law school in creating mental health awareness among school students through the Millennium Fellowship.
