Millennium Fellowship Project: Froods
Froods is a student-initiated startup with the goal to redistribute clean, leftover food from restaurants, cafes, marquees, etc. to the underprivileged members of society. With the user-friendly Froods app (under final development stage), Froods plans on bridging the gap between donors, distributors, and recipients by allowing NGOs and volunteers to connect with anyone who wants to donate food. The main goal is to ensure excess fresh food is collected, packed, and distributed to those who have been deprived of it. Alongside this main goal, we strive to nurture a sense of responsibility in society by organizing various donation drives. The Froods App connects NGOs that already distribute food and incentivizes donors such as restaurants and banquet halls who donate fresh food that would otherwise end up wasted, to ensure no one sleeps hungry.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hamza Farooq is an undergraduate mechanical engineer in NUST, Islamabad who has joined the diverse and competitive team of the Millennium Fellowship to serve the community at its best alongside developing inter personal skills. The internal relief and happiness that one gets on fulfilling the need of needy is matchless and I am here for this joy.
