Millennium Fellowship Project: FloCircle
Flo-circle seeks to alleviate period poverty. The targeted group of young ladies is from a small rural community called Irisvale, these are mainly school dropouts as a result of pregnancy who don’t have any means to fend for themselves. The whole purpose of this project is to source, acquire and distribute sanitary pads to the suffering girl child as well as mental health advocacy. The group along with the mental health check ins where we discuss how they have been coping with their situation as well as encourage them to be each other’s keeper will also be trained how to empower themselves through working on projects that are a source of income. We also raise awareness about period poverty and it’s impact on mental health to female NUST students.
