" I’m passionate about spreading positivity and helping people. How can I direct people with bad childhood experience to the right path? How can I help people with disabilities lift up their courage and confidence? These are thoughts that’ve been going through my mind. I know that there are people who are neglected by society for so long, and my purpose is to make sure more people are being heard and find a way to help them achieve better mental health. I hope to meet other individuals through the Millennium Fellowship and see the different perspectives of the world. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Adolescent Mental Health Initiative

We are ENGAGE: Youth Health at NYU, an adolescent mental health initiative sponsored under the Millennium Fellowship Program, supervised by United Nations Academic Impact. ENGAGE is a community-based project with the aim of spreading awareness about adolescent mental health conditions, spearheading a global movement to overcome global mental health barriers one step at a time. As part of our name, our mission at ENGAGE is to interact with schools like yours, reaching out to our targeted audience— teenagers between 10 to 19 years old. Through this, we hope to holistically improve teen mental health; addressing their psychological concerns, resolving relationship conflicts, relieving academic stress, etc. Our work centers around providing an education in mental health to teenage students, teaching them how to spot the warning signs that spark unhealthy psychological states in themselves and their peers. We aim to provide teenagers with a safe and comfortable environment to express themselves while simultaneously learning about mental health.
