" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it affords me the opportunity to reach young, unversed persons via the right platform. It is also a medium for connecting with other fellows for partnerships in the future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: RaHNG Pad Drive

The 'Raising healthy girls for the Next generation' (RaHNG) pad drive is a novel initiative led by Millennium Fellow Ayomide Osungbade. RaHNG seeks to promote healthy living amongst adolescent girls and also help them make better and informed choices about their health. We will reach out to more than 500 girls in government secondary schools, educating and sensitizing them on menstrual hygiene management. We will also give out more than 2000 pieces of sanitary pads to the adolescent girls. We hope that this would cause them to make healthy choices and lifestyles that concerns their health in general, we also hope that it will sensitize their caregivers and guardians to encourage healthy behaviors and menstrual hygiene among them. To achieve this aim, we are planning to raise 100,000NGN ($262) for materials, personnel and logistics, from our partners, donors and people who are willing to support our dream.
