" I am really excited to be a part of this program as it would enable me hone my leadership as well as organizational skills. It would also serve as a launching pad to enable me meet and interact with persons of similar thinking and passions with whom we can work together to attain a better society. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Knowledge November

Knowledge November is a project which aims to promote literacy and education among the most vulnerable and disadvantaged school age children in Ile-Ife, Osun State. Nigeria. Education is the bed rock of development in any human society. The ability to read and write is fundamental to learning, innovation and creating socio-economic and scientific solutions.

With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, many homes and families are faced with financial hardships, the government have announced a slash in budgetary allocation to education which all the more makes the prospect of receiving quality education grimmer for children in these communities.

Now in its second year, we hope that through Knowledge November children can find joy in learning and dream of a bright and prosperous future. The project embarks on a month long awarenes, advocacy and fundraising campaign program asking for greater funding and support for the education of children especially from poor communities.

In the first week of December we commit to donating books and stationeries from money raised to community schools which have been identified to be underfunded and in need. We also speak with the pupils to encourage them and inspire them on their learning journey.
