" I am still unaware and untrained about how to put my knowledge and interest into practice. I know I can teach people concepts easily with a tint of creativity. But right now I am in search of an opportunity to get to know people who have already put their knowledge into practice. I want to experience the momentum of being a part of something big, something which has already started taking baby steps to bring change. I think the Millennium Fellowship will help me channel and might get the support and strength to start something big and impactful. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Surkh

Surkh is an initiative by the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. It aims to advance Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.

Surkh aims at increasing awareness of menstrual health & hygiene through student-led initiatives. Menstrual health continues to be a stigmatized topic in many areas across the country, especially rural areas. Through Surkh, we hope to facilitate the de-stigmatization of conversations around menstrual health, and also encourage the use of sustainable menstrual products.
