" What comes to the mind when one thinks of India? Or more specifically, Uttar Pradesh? Bustling cities with loads and loads of people, most of whom are on a marathon to earn a decent living. Witnessing such harsh realities pushed me to design an intervention to transform the skilled/unskilled labour market. My intent is simply to overcome asymmetric information to help workers connect with employers aligned with the idea of Decent Work and Economic Growth. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Rozgaar
Rozgaar provides a single platform where an employer can review virtual profiles of daily wage workers and invite them directly for the job. Virtual profiles can be created by calling the helpline service which will be attended by me or my peers for manually creating them. A job notification will be sent to the daily wage worker via text message surpassing the dependency on a smartphone on the side of the employee.
About the Millennium Fellow
Devansh Anand Tiwari is a young, ambitious and diligent Final year Engineering student at the Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He was born in Ayodhya, India and resides in Chandigarh. From his early years of childhood, Devansh has shown concern towards the existing social and economic inequalities in the society. Over the years, Devansh helped the socially and financially vulnerable with education, opportunities and resources. The drive in him that strives to elevate the economically deprived section of the society is what defines his continuous endeavours. Devansh aspires to create a professional forum to address the gaps in the Employment Paradigm to further Socio-Economic stability, and provide his own contribution in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Goals.
