Millennium Fellowship Project: PCOS Free World
PCOS free world (PFW) is an independent project led by Millennium fellow
Ankita H R which aims to find a solution for PCOS and its related symptoms via in-silico analysis and prediction of a lead molecule that could in future become a medicine or cure for PCOS. In India according to a leading newspaper, The Hindu, claims that 1 out of 5 women in India suffer from PCOS. This indicates the importance and urgency in finding a cure for the disease. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels. Women with PCOS produce higher-than-normal amounts of male hormones. In this project a target molecule related to PCOS will be selected and on the basis of literature and thorough in-silico analysis using different software , a lead molecule will be predicted and its interaction with the target molecule will be analyzed that could in future become a cure for the disease and its symptoms.Research towards the target molecule that contributes to PCOS disease progression can open new possibilities to eradicate PCOS.
