" The Millennium Fellowship provides a platform to connect with our peers and get inspired by their ideas to make a difference. I am delighted to be a part of the cohort of 2021 and am equally excited to work towards the sustainable development goals that my project deals with. My knowledge and experiences so far as a young female law student have fuelled my desire to encourage and support young women in realizing their aspirations. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Khwahish

Project Khwahish is an initiative led by Millennium Fellow Komal Parnami, that aims to inspire young women who aspire to dream. 'Khwahish' means aspiration. We live in a world where gender equality is still a distant destination. Project Khwahish seeks to highlight the predicaments of adolescent girls and encourage sustainable solutions to offset the same. The goal is to progress towards a society where girls can 'bloom' and 'become'. The project endeavors to empower young women to realize their aspirations. Project Khwahish envisions to promote the Sustainable Development Goals of 'Gender equality', 'Good health and well-being' and 'Quality education'. During the Millennium Fellowship period, Project Khwahish aims to host virtual awarness campaigns, one on one counselling sessions, open mics and virtual workshops on gender sensitization. Through these events and activities, the project expects to reach around 50 to 100 persons directly and many more through the impact created.
