Millennium Fellowship Project: Prisoner Advocacy Initiative: Wicomico County
Prisoner Advocacy Initiative is a project that researches mass incarceration, specifically in Wicomico County, Maryland. It seeks to analyze the county's incarceration situation in relation to its crime rates, the imprisonment rates of surrounding counties, and the services that are offered to inmates after they are released. This project also includes a personal aspect by interviewing community members that have some relation to the Wicomico County prison system.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sarah Lester, from Lewes, Delaware, is a third year student at Salisbury University studying Political Science with a minor in History. She is a student of Salisbury University's Honors College and will be graduating in May 2022. After graduation, Sarah plans to earn her Master's Degree in Public Policy and work for an organization that advocates for justice and human rights.
