" I am thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow this year as this experience presents itself as an opportunity to better grasp how communities have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am looking forward to working with strong-minded and determined students from all over the world on projects that have a great social impact. I believe that the Millennium Fellowship is an exceptional program that allows dynamic people to achieve their goals, therefore I am profoundly grateful to be part of such a network. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Plateforme des Initiatives Sociales et d'Entrepreneuriat

PISE is a programme seeking to tackle socio-economic problems by developing innovative ideas into initiatives and startups by students of the Sciences Po Le Havre campus. This will happen in 12 week programmes consisting of theoretical sessions where participants are taught business and social fundamentals to help them build their initiative, experiential sessions where students engage with local communities to understand the local manifestation of the problem they feel passionate about. Finally, through this process we aim to provide students with mentors ‚ practitioners ‚who will work with the students to structure their enterprises, get personalised feedback on their progress, and help implement the initiatives into real surroundings. The goal of the programme is to integrate our campus better into the Le Havre city, by making students more aware and concerned about this microcosm, and helping them to actively seek solutions to socio-economic challenges felt by the residents of the city.

About the Millennium Fellow

Currently studying at a French university for social and political science, Sciences Po, Roxane Butlewski is passionate about topics related to social integration. Although she is French, Roxane has lived in several different countries ranging from the United Kingdom to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This drives her to gather the experience acquired from being in contact with a myriad of cultures in order to best understand the needs of citizens surrounding her. Throughout her first year at university, Roxane has undertaken projects related to the understanding of the social realities in her environment such as a social entrepreneurship programme or even working in a local business. In terms of career, Roxane hopes to work for projects striving to help precarious populations access to basic needs and knowledge of a developing world.
