Millennium Fellowship Project: SHUstainable Human Settlements and Resources

SHUstainable Human Settlements and Resources (SHSR) is a group of students from various disciplines dedicated to researching, educating, and impacting their local community and interested in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #11 Sustainable Cities. SHSR functions as a three-part project focusing on research, outreach, and cleanup. The first section consisted of students conducting research on the anthropogenic effects of the local city on our environment. Research focused on water, air, infrastructure, and other human-related environmental issues as well as the political and socio-economic effects of the issue. The team has conducts research on how cities impact our environment and the subsequent socio-cultural and political effects, and have moveed into phase two. Phase two consists of educating the local community as well as government officials with the hopes of making long-term changes that will produce more sustainable cities. The education process revolves around spreading information to local community groups, schools, and government. For part three, all students will lead a community cleanup that is open to all of Seton Hill University.
