" I am beyond excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship to be among like-minded individuals who all want to make a larger impact in society. I want to use this opportunity to spread further awareness of the issues that women face globally. I am excited to have a platform where I can achieve my goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: UN Women - SFU
As the founders of UN Women - SFU student club, our goal is to advocate for gender equality and empowerment, and support the noble mission of UN Women at Simon Fraser University (SFU). We wish to raise awareness about the global feminist movement, and gender-based issues such as women’s political participation, economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls, supporting women and girls with disabilities. Going forward, this club plans to encompass all the Fellows’ projects, advocate for women’s rights, create a diverse community of people interested in furthering the feminist movement, and host activities like panel events and fundraisers for womens’ charities.
