Millennium Fellowship Project: FINDEPENDENT
Findependent is a social impact project led by Millennium Fellows (presented by United Nations Academic Impact & Millennium Campus Network) Roshni K Mathew, V Kirthana, Aliya Sheriff, Haifa Maryam and Ritheka Sundar from Stella Maris College, Chennai. This is a social media-centered online campaign that aims to address financial literacy among young women. Oftentimes, students are inadequately informed about managing money and savings and investments options available to them. And financial literacy is fast becoming one of the core skills which facilitate greater opportunities in this competitive world. Better financial literacy would enable young women to make calculated decisions that would ultimately aid in achieving a higher standard of living. Therefore, we feel that it is important to acclimatize the youth of today with this very essential skill and address the gender gap on financial literacy in India.
