" The Millennium Fellowship Program will provide me with a platform to enhance my skills and scale my social impact to a new level. Getting the opportunity to interact and learn from like-minded individuals is exciting! I’m looking to further my knowledge on sustainability, as I look to ensuring that the project I am currently working on can continue in the long run, while reaching many more children across Kenya. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Uji Project

The aim of this project was to provide the most vulnerable children at Kasarini Primary School, located in Kiambu County, Kenya, with a cup of porridge a day, to at least sustain them on a normal school day. These children would survive an entire school day on an empty stomach with no food and sometimes even water. We initially targeted to raise Ksh. 50,000, which would be enough to provide these students with a cup of porridge for a complete school term (3 months). The fundraising was successful as we raised Ksh. 105,000, with the project now running for 2 school terms instead of the intended 1 term, and is currently feeding 150 students.
