In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. Millennium Fellowship Project: Unshackled
Unshackled is a step forward to break free from the shackles of inequalities, to emerge undivided and united. The creators of Unshackled are determined to break the stereotypes and barriers faced by people from different walks of life, on a daily basis. They are focused on addressing three specific issues which include menstruation awareness for women below the poverty line, the LGBTQIA+ community and the taboos faced by the sex workers of India.
About the Millennium Fellow
Kahinee Majumder is a second year student of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. A young sociologist in the making, Kahinee is always eager to understand and challenge the world around her. She is tenacious and creative in every way possible. Kahinee is deeply passionate about women empowerment, social rights, and body positivity. She tries to reflect her ideologies in her writings and has successfully published many of them on several eminent platforms. She hopes to impact and therefore improve society, through her expression of words. Over the years, Kahinee has developed excellent leadership qualities that helped her organize plenty of social and animal welfare drives with various non-profit organizations. She believes in embracing the world with a little more empathy, with the hope of a better tomorrow.
