About the Millennium Fellow
Yibin Liu is a motivated and passionate student studying economics at University College London. She was born and raised in Sichuan, China, and went to London for her bachelor’s degree. The first day arrived at UCL is her first day stepping out of Asia. Immediately she could feel the different gender dynamics in Asia and Europe. She was struggling with gender inequality for a long time at home, and this is the first time she actually saw that a more equal world is possible. In the first year, she was encouraged to take part in the Laidlaw leadership program from where she learned how to lead and initiate philanthropic projects. Under the guidelines of Makesense, she successfully launched a climate education program with her friends in Mainland and Hongkong in China. With her previous experience, she is excited to be a Millennium Fellow and ready to contribute to gender equality in the world.
