United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" It is indeed an honour to be part of the Millennium Fellowship and I am really excited because of the numerous opportunities it will avail me.
It's a sad truth that our ecosystem is dying, habitats are being destroyed, the ozone layer is constantly depleting, the climate is fast changing and the threat to life is real.
My project is one that aims to tackle the underlying causes of these problems.
The work of achieving Sustainability is a Collective effort which requires all hands on deck thus through the Millennium Fellowship, I hope to enhance my skills to be able to make maximum impact. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Eco Friendly Youths

Eco Friendly Youths is a project that focuses on SDG 6 and 12. It aims at educating people on proper management and disposal of waste and the dangers of disposing waste in water bodies. It also aimed at educating the people on the importance of recycling We hope to ignite passion in young people to do everything in their power to protect their environment by having the right attitude to waste management.

About the Millennium Fellow

Olisakwera Excel Amalu is a young Scientist pursuing a Career in the Chemical Sciences at the University of Nigeria. He is a big dreamer who is passionate about changing his world. He hopes to work closely with the UN as an NGO towards achieving the Sustainable development goals.
