ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Girls child right

• SCHOOL MATERIALS, HYGIENE DIGINITY KITS, FOOD ITEMS, DISTRIBUTION IN BORNO STATE

•At different IDPs Camps in Maiduguri

•A diginity kits distribution was organized by YERWA TRANSFORMATION INITIATE in collaboration with keystone Bank from different IDPs Camps in maiduguri, the total packs of complete 32000 diginity kits, have been distributed for 32000 IDPs. The main purpose of this event was to create awareness regarding proper using of menstrual hygiene pad and to support the IDPs with the kits for preventing from unwanted infections. the initiative also distribute school materials such as uniforms school bags and books.
•A team collaborated from YERWA TRANSFORMATION INITIATE and keystone Bank were present at the location Shuaibu Ibrahim a rep from YERWA TRANSFORMATION INITIATE have sensitized the beneficiaries on the use of sanitary pads and proper measures to take during menstrual cycle. keystone bank staffs provided refreshment which is bottle water and pure water for the beneficiaries also distribute the food items and school materials.
•As end of the event was approaching there was a sense of satisfaction on the faces of the beneficiaries.
•the Camp community leadare *Mallam Fannami* thanked YERWA TRANSFORMATION INITIATE and Keystone Bank.
•the event still ongoing here in Maiduguri.

About the Millennium Fellow

My name is Shuaibu Ibrahim and my pronouns are He/Him. I'm from Borno State, Nigeria and am currently a 200 level student at University of maiduguri .

My Project name is
'Grils Child Right'
My goal is addressing the wider gender
gap in Girls empowerment and child
protection, i continuously sought ways
of improving the lives of children especially
teenage girls in Nigeria.
and i provides an intervention
that meets the needs of the girl child and
children in general especially those from the
rural areas. My specific interventions include
Girl Child empowerment both in education,
health, skills, gender equality, sensitization on
early child marriage, girl child school drop-out,
child protection, advocacy and community
mobilization in advancing SSDGs 5 Gender Equality- SDGs 3 Good Health and wellbeing SDGs 4 Quality of Education.
My cohort’s social project revolves around building innovative and intersectional interventions around sustainability and climate change.
