ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: HealthActive

HealthActive is a team of public health enthusiasts aiming at estimating public awareness on hypertension, following up on patient treatment and promoting healthy lifestyle modification in the teeming Nigerian population. Hypertension also known as the silent killer disease and it is a major risk factor of Cardiovascular Disease. Public awareness creation, health education and follow up on treatment and lifestyle modification of individuals in regards to hypertension had been inadequate and this had led to high mortality rate resulting from uncontrolled hypertension. This project aims to present health education and awareness which will result in profound reduction in cases of hypertension over the period of the Millennium Fellowship (August-December 2021)

About the Millennium Fellow

Inemesit Imoh Wilson is an advent advancer of good health and wellness for all. She is currently a student medical physiologist, at University of Uyo, Nigeria. A natural born leader, she has assumed the role of leadership in various projects both in school, church, and her local community. She was Head Prefect in her high school and is currently the Academic Director in her department. She is enthusiastic about the inclusion of women in all spheres, globally. And hopes to serve her country, as the minister of health, someday.
