" The saying that good health is wealth has been my watchword and motivation in the course of this journey. I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I am passionate about gaining more knowledge on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to that, I desire to devote myself to advancing the goal 3 of the SDGs which centres on good health and well being. I believe that the Millennium Fellowship will help take my social impact to the next level by creating an opportunity for me to; build and grow my network, widen my sphere by interacting with other change makers, improve my skills in leadership, communication and teamwork, come up with ideas and innovations, which will motivate and advance me towards executing social impact projects "
Millennium Fellowship Project: HealthActive
HealthActive is a team of public health enthusiasts aiming at estimating public awareness on hypertension, following up on patient treatment and promoting healthy lifestyle modification in the teeming Nigerian population. Hypertension also known as the silent killer disease and it is a major risk factor of Cardiovascular Disease. Public awareness creation, health education and follow up on treatment and lifestyle modification of individuals in regards to hypertension had been inadequate and this had led to high mortality rate resulting from uncontrolled hypertension. This project aims to present health education and awareness which will result in profound reduction in cases of hypertension over the period of the Millennium Fellowship (August-December 2021)
About the Millennium Fellow
Ngozi Promise Harbor is an intelligent and industrious young Nigerian. She was born in Nigeria and resides in the city of Uyo in Akwa Ibom state. She is currently a Student Pharmacist at the University of Uyo in Nigeria.
Ngozi is a young woman who is passionate about the good health and well being of her community. As a Student Pharmacist and youth leader, she has organized and participated in many health outreaches and volunteer programs within and outside her state of Residence. She is determined to contribute to her community through social impact projects that will enhance the good health and well being of the populace.
