" Diversity is strength . It is the straw that holds us together when ideas are put into action notwithstanding whose it is. As a Millennium Fellow, am presented with an opportunity to network and build a network of of different peoples and cultures. My personality is tested to the limits, my capacity to be creative is tested,my ability to be the solution seeker is laid bare and my humanity is put forth as a force for good. As I become a fellow, I also give back to the society which is my insured heritage. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Youth and Leadership

I intend on engaging campus going students within the universities located in Nairobi, get to have an all engaging chat on their perspectives about leadership and their role in it. The objective is to setup out of those chats, a prospective vibrant campus youth leaders who in turn will mentor each other for purposes of joining campus student organization bodies and be drivers of that leadership they aspire from within. This project therefore, will act as an incubator to potential and promising upcoming youth leaders to attain those positions which they aspire to be and from there potentially join mainstream outside leadership roles too.

About the Millennium Fellow

Billy Abraham Otieno is a third year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Nairobi ,Kenya. Rising through the levels of the Kenyan academic system, he has always aspired to be a global change leader in emerging spheres of concern such as climate change and youth empowerment. Born in Siaya county of the former Nyanza province and raised by a single parent will best describe his journey as one that was and is modest both by expectations, experience and aspirations. Today as an aspiring global leader, that description would be best seen as naive and lacking in ambition but from it ,he see's the world on his own lens. One that is full of great peoples and with diversity unparalleled and in perspective, he's one of them.
