Millennium Fellowship Project: Legal Space Africa
Human rights organizations and activists are more often forced to go to court in quest for social justice and maintenance of rule of law. They carry upon themselves the daunty task of legal research and legal drafting, even most or some do not have legal background.
Legal Space Africa steps in to fill this gap by lending a helping hand in legal research and drafting. We have so far assist 254hope organization and Aluochier, a celebrated human rights champion, in research and drafting legal documents in the controversial constitutional amendment petition that has so far moved from the High Court to the Supreme Court.
Legal Space Africa also looks forward to carrying out more legal aid clinics in vulnerable and samll communities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Dickens Ochieng is a second year dedicated law student at the University of Nairobi,parklands campus. He is particularly passionate about constitutionalism,human rights and rule of law. He has been involved in a number of volunteer projects including voluntary research in public interest litigation and amnesty international voluntary campaigns and short courses.
He is a calm,iclusive and empathetic leader with a vision of a free and just society grounded on human dignity.He envisions a just society, that creates an environment for self-actualization, protection of liberty and livelihood.
