ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" The desire for change is the core driver of my passion for sustainability in cities and communities . I believe that as a Millennium Fellow 2021,I will acquire skills on how best to undertake the quest for Sustainable development. Implementation of the dreams at heart, having worked alongside fellows with similar and different interests, will be better achievable. The exposure acquired will go a long way to open up minds to opportunities previously unseen. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Green Women

Green Women is a women-based initiative offering a space for women to shift the narrative on empowerment, access to, and impact in/of the built environment. It's aim is to see to it that women take up sustainable development roles and that they contribute equally rather than being seen as beneficiaries.

About the Millennium Fellow

Lydia Wausi King'oo is a young, enthusiastic and self-driven Real Estate student in the University of Nairobi. She was born, raised, studies and lives in Kenya, a country in the Eastern part of Africa. Her passion lies in environmental conservation, with a major basis on green building and general Sustainability.
In previous occasions,she has been involved in tree-planting activities and environment-related campaigns geared towards a green future.
Lydia's desire is to implement ideas that will vanguard societal transformation in matters of Sustainable development . With the current boom of the real estate industry,she looks forward to engage
key players in the built environment in providing eco-friendly alternatives for the construction industry.
