" The amazing opportunity to partner up with several other like-minded people, with ideas on how to better our world, is a tremendous, if not thrilling experience. I believe every human and living being should co-exist together in a sustainable planet, and it is our duty as Millennium Fellows to see this goal come true. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mind Over Matter (M.O.M)
Many individuals are unaware of the effect their mental health has on their physical wellness, and vice versa. The mind is one of the most used organs in our body, yet one of the most delicate and unchatered by medical professionals. My project seeks to unite the two: open up the mind, free the body. I believe in mind over matter as more than just a statement of will, it is a testament to what we can achieve if we let our minds free to explore endless opportunities, including new lines of treatment and drug therapies. I also seek to understand and hopefully know different methods to treat various acute, chronic illnesses plaguing mankind through use of mental therapy and traditional albeit forgotten remedies, to replace polypharmacies, untreatable and/or neuropathic pain and multiple prescriptions given to patients. My primary target audience is geriatric female patients, who undergo several physiological changes that affect their mental health greatly.
