" I am excited to become a Millennium Fellow to ultimately surround myself with likeminded individuals that have a heart to make changes in the communities we are a part of. Through this opportunity, I want to gain insight on what it means to be a knowledgeable and equipped leader as well as learn from the experiences of others. Change starts from one person at a time, but persistence and encouragement can allow for change for the betterment of our communities to be constant. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Alumni Mentorship Program

The Alumni Mentorship Program (AMP) has created a website which serves as a resource for local High School students to connect with Alumni, and receive advice curated from their personal experiences. Students are encouraged to reach out to Alumni who are willing to serve as mentors especially as they navigate the college application process. They are given access to sample resume examples, email templates as well as a step-by-step timeline for the college application process. Upon the end of their senior year of highschool, the students are encouraged to enlist as mentors themselves to give back to their community and keep the pool of active mentors sustained.
