" Like dust I rise. I grew up being exposed to smallholder and rural farming, with farmers who work hard but gain so little from it due to different reasons which can be solved with the right approach. As someone who is doing business studies and computer science I am able to apply the content into action. So farmers being exposed to hunger is something I am passionate to solve. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Academia Online

Academia Online seeks to address the problem of access of fundamental lifelong skills to students and employees thus leading to unemployment and substandard organizational functions. We intend to bridge the gap between students’ academic years and their industry experience by introducing digital learning platform that provides courses on these various skills. With the unemployment rate increasing and a larger ratio being young people we have gone through some surveys and research and we realized that the lack of some of these fundamental skills is leading their unemployment as they will not be competent enough to secure employment in the industry.

Harnessing the digital era we are in, we found it easier to avail these opportunities online where the larger group of youths spend their time. Academia online will provide approved content on the online courses to everyone who will enroll on the platform. After finishing each course one will get a digital certificate of completion for use on their CVs and digital profiles. Our goal is to avail life-long skills learning opportunities to all able students and employees by promoting SDG4; Quality Education through harnessing technology.
