" Innovation and versatility, alongside determination to stand up for the young girls as well as the greater part of the youths is what drives the focus and enthusiam that i put into my work. With a vision to establish systems that will not only develop my community but Africa as a whole, this gives me confidence that taking part to fulfill the sustainable goals together as youths in the Millennium Fellowship will equip us with skills that will make the world a better place through us. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Academia Online
Academia Online seeks to address the problem of access of fundamental lifelong skills to students and employees thus leading to unemployment and substandard organizational functions. We intend to bridge the gap between students’ academic years and their industry experience by introducing digital learning platform that provides courses on these various skills. With the unemployment rate increasing and a larger ratio being young people we have gone through some surveys and research and we realized that the lack of some of these fundamental skills is leading their unemployment as they will not be competent enough to secure employment in the industry.
Harnessing the digital era we are in, we found it easier to avail these opportunities online where the larger group of youths spend their time. Academia online will provide approved content on the online courses to everyone who will enroll on the platform. After finishing each course one will get a digital certificate of completion for use on their CVs and digital profiles. Our goal is to avail life-long skills learning opportunities to all able students and employees by promoting SDG4; Quality Education through harnessing technology.
