" "The beautiful one is yet to be born" implying that regardless of all the amazing things already created by man in the world, something much greater can be created so why not work towards creating it. There is still so much to change, to improve and to build. That belief fuels my excitement to partake in activities that puts me at a better position to be at the fore front in reverberating positive change through my country and the world at large. The Millennium Fellowship 2022 would set me miles ahead to reaching that goal. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Girl Child Tech For Health Initiative
```The Girl Child Tech for Health Initiative```
The demographics of Nigeria shows a 1:1 male, female population ratio. However, only about 22% of women occupy positions in the tech industry.
This all stems up from the orientation the girl child has been made to have with regards to tech in Nigeria and that is the same orientation (GCTHI) hopes to change positively.
The project is titled The Girl child Tech for Health Initiative (GCTHI).
It is a nonprofit program that is aimed at empowering and encouraging innovative thinking within the girl child in order to solve health problems through the application of tech.
Activities to be conducted includes;
sensitization of secondary school girls on the different career prospects in tech and the need to explore these fields.
Empowerment of selected students with innovative IT skills, to improve the health sector. This will be of help to them in achieving a wide range of goals in the long term.
Post program mentorship and counseling to support those interested in pursuing skills learnt.
In conclusion, this program is intended to breed new tech solution finders amongst young ladies, foster networking amongst them and open up the minds of these girls to believe that females are capable of occupying spaces in the tech sector.
