The skills I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will make my social impact on schools, governmental and non-governmental organizations and my community more resourceful, appreciable, ponderable and aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I am thrilled and I anticipate with utmost sincerity to learn and contribute, my own quarter. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The Girl Child Tech Empowerment initiative

This is an initiative to empower young girls with IT skills. Following the rise in need for tech solutions and the concurrent lag in inclusion of the girl child, ‘Empower a Girl in Tech initiative’ is focused on enlightening, encouraging and equipping the girl child with skills that if built upon with hard work and dedication could set them at the fore front as tech innovators. It also addresses global inequalities in STEM ( science, technology, engineering and mathematics)

About the Millennium Fellow

Odidi Vanessa Anosi, is a young ,hard working, vibrant and enthusiastic student of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Kaduna state, Nigeria, studying microbiology. Vanessa hails from Agenebode in Edo state, Nigeria and was born in Zaria, Kaduna state which is currently her state of residence. Growing up In a family of six with three siblings, we being all girls, Vanessa has always been passionate about her advocacy for women rights. In a society where women are not given the opportunity and free will to participate and contribute their quarter to community development, Vanessa has paved her way into campus politics and has served a two time tenure as the assistant secretary general and also as the vice president in the department of microbiology faculty of life sciences Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and she is currently serving a tenure as the Special Adviser parliamentary matters to the president of the faculty of life sciences Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. She has also contributed her quarter in empowering women in technology under a non governmental organization called She code Africa as the chapter lead for Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria Kaduna state,Nigeria. Vanessa aspires to be in a professional field where she can further contribute to the development of the United Nations' Sustianable Goals.
