Millennium Fellowship Project: Go With The Flow

"Go with the flow " is a project aimed at educating girl child on how to have good and proper menstrual hygiene. How to care for herself during menstruation and correcting the prevalent misconception surrounding a girl's menstrual period.
A 2015 survey, conducted by UNICEF(United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) titled "Am assessment of menstrual hygiene management in secondary schools " showed that school girls in Nigeria face many challenges that affect their ability to manage their menstruation in a hygienic and dignified mannner.
Some of the challenges they face include fear, anxiety, confusion and misconception about menstruation.
The project aims to provide sufficient and accurate information on menstruation and menstrual hygiene along side, promoting a hygienic and dignified approach of managing menstruation as well as correcting the myths and false misconceptions regarding menstrual health.

About the Millennium Fellow

Queeneth Ukah is a young and diligent medical student. She was born in Nigeria, resides in Jos, and is currently studying in Afe Babalola University Ado-ekiti, ekiti Nigeria. Queeneth has always been passionate about human rights and girl child education. She is interested in improving the standard of living of her community and beyond . She plans to reach out to people and contribute positively to their general well being.
