Millennium Fellowship Project: The Girls' Right Project
The project targets young girls in rural areas of Ghana. These are girls who are denied their rights, abused and are not open to opportunities. The project aims to solve elite capture by identifying these girls, empowering them by advocacy, training, and provision of needed resources to unleash their potential. The project will also consider educating the parents and elderly in the community on the importance of female empowerment to aid make the project a successful one. Another aspect of the project will focus on girls in high schools, training them on leadership and entrepreneurship, as well as how to take advantage of opportunities and how to source them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hajaru Baba Dua is an ambitious, proactive young lady studying at the African Leadership University in Mauritius. She studies social sciences as her honors degree. Hajaru has been passionate about social activism and women empowerment through out her high school days. She acted as a volunteer to many youth organizations as well as represented her school in competitions. Hajaru was born with the service to mankind spirit and because of this she always explore opportunities that will enable her to diliver her work deligently to the people she serves. Hajaru sees herself as the hope of the black race and cannot wait contribute her quota to the continental unity of Africa and the world at large. Hajaru always tell herself that the sky is her starting point.
