Millennium Fellowship Project: Zona Enterprise
Waste Rush is a waste management company that aims at delivering total waste management solutions in Arusha, Tanzania. It aims at providing integrated waste management solutions from collection through its truck system to transfer, sorting and disposal. In a city of approximately 500,000 people with only the Municipal council regulating the waste, transfer offers unequal chances to all people, thus causing some areas not well served. Waste Rush aims at filling that gap and challenge the Municipal service to ensure the city is kept clean, as it is the major tourist destination in the Country.
How we Operate:
Waste rush will provide waste bins to the customers and periodically come to collect the waste from their homestead with our truck system.When the dust bin is full, they call us to come to pick the waste. Our trucks and trained staff collect the wastes, transport them to our waste sorting site, where separation is done. Those which are recycled, will be sent to the other companies that recycle wastes.The remaining waste will be sent to the dumpsite located by the government for further measures.

About the Millennium Fellow
John is a hard-working young man, a vibrant and dedicated team player who exhibits a high commitment to his work. Innovative with excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. He can quickly acclimatize himself to new situations in a bustling and competitive environment, accomplish his tasks in a timely fashion, and work independently and in a team to solve problems.
He was born in Tanzania, resides in Mauritius, and is currently studying at African Leadership University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Social Science.
John is well equipped with personal skills in leadership, project management, data analysis, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, public speaking, and a high desire to be the best at everything he does. Skills he got while working with International organizations such as PwC, Global Citizenship Foundation, and Paragon One.
John is eager to be part of diverse learning environments that will contribute to his personal and professional growth.
