" I stand for equality in all walks of life. I have seen blatant discrimination because of gender, and I do not want anyone else to experience that. I think that by being a Millennium Fellow, I will be able to provide awareness and assistance to the audience in need, and provide a safe space for people to express themselves. The skills that I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will allow me to make a lasting impact on my society and hopefully create a more accepting space for people. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Nobody Else

We want people to feel comfortable in their own skin, with their own gender identity. In the society we live in, there is such a pervasive stigma associated with non-heteronormative gender identities, forcing people to hide their true selves. We want to provide a platform to spread awareness, initiate a diaologue and ultimately create a safe space where people feel accepted and confident in their own identity. We want to educate and empower individuals to have the awareness and strength to advocate for their own equality and perpetuate the idea of unity. We want to dispel any gender specific stereotypes that cause discrimination to be shown to individuals based on behavior, identity or gender expression (such as androgyny).
