" Being a Millennium Fellow is more than a dream come true. Honestly, I have waited for this very moment for ages. Hearing of The Millennium Fellowship for the first time was like meeting a soul mate. Considering the aim of the Fellowship and how it has raised many young leaders who are tremendously making so much impacts just cast a strong spell on me of which I can never let go of. This intrigued me so much to be a Millennium Fellow so that I can also be a great advocate to help me work towards the SDG Goal 1(one) to eradicate poverty. I believe that a great man can do greater things if he is not alone. Thus, joining the Millennium Fellowship is a stepping stone for me to be exposed to many insights, learn new things from people from diverse backgrounds and culture. I will be able to meet people with similar interest as mine and this will really help me to learn a lot from others, as I also contribute with ideas. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The "Tsakemi" Project

My project involves installing irrigation systems on farmlands to provide farmers with access to water all year round for their farming activities. The irrigation system provides farmers with an alternative water supply to the rainfall, helps them farm in and out of season, prevents crop production loss due to drought, prevents seasonal unemployment among farmers, increases farm produce, and increases farmers’ profit, thereby making it easy for these farmers to invest in the education of their children. This project addresses SDG Goal 1; No poverty; goal 2; Zero Hunger; and Goal 8; Decent work and economic growth.
