" " Any successful project would require immense planning, detailed execution, proper guidance, and lots of positive support. It would require essential life skills, cultivation of core values, and honing your leadership skills. With these supports provided by the Fellowship, we can create helpful projects with clearer goals and directions and bigger impacts. As a person passionate about making a difference in my community, I am excited for the challenges, the learning, and all the fun experiences during this Fellowship which would become my guidebook for future work. Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Kay-mo (སྐྱེས་མོ།)
Project Kay-mo is where we bring together everything about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and its related themes. While there has been a commendable rise in discussion on women's reproductive and menstrual health, its connection to PCOS and the topic of PCOS itself has often remained backstage, oblivious to many. Recognizing the gap in the awareness of this extremely common hormonal disorder in the Tibetan community, Project སྐྱེས་མོ (Kay-mo) aims to bridge the gap through this page where we connect with PCOS experts and health experts to bring a platform to encourage the discussion and awareness on PCOS.
The Project aims to introduce young Tibetan menstruators located in urban settings to medically accurate menstrual health management practices, including lifestyle, mental health, and nutrition. Based on the philosophies of radical collective care, this project will bring together a circle of young menstruators to connect with their body and with each other, to go beyond seeing menstruation as merely a bodily phenomenon. It aims to facilitate conversations with a medical practitioner, mental health professional, and yoga instructor to offer options for holistic menstrual health management practices to the cohort.
