" "Creative bottom-level change serves as a template for large-scale change to bring about sustainable development. Using the resources and guidance of the Millennium Fellowship, I hope to conduct a succesful project that can be recreated in other settings as well. Having such a long-term and large-scale outlook would be invaluable in conducting any meaningful project at the ground level." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Menstrual Waste Generation Report

The MWG report aims to collect data on the generation and management of menstrual waste on my college campus. By collecting the relevant data through surveys, interviews with relevant stakeholders (menstruating individuals, waste collection workers, and the administration), and on-ground investigations, we hope to assess the accessibility of menstrual products, the magnitude of menstrual waste generated, and how sustainable the management of said waste is. Finally, after identifying the problems in the system, we seek to recommend a set of solutions to the administration in order to make the management of this waste more sustainable, while also hoping to spread awareness about menstruation, menstrual products, and the management of menstrual waste.
