Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Romoni

Project “Romoni ”, aims to distribute reusable pads for girls in Bangladesh who have just started their periods, along with conducting Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) sessions for them.

About the Millennium Fellow

Halima Akter Liza is studying Politics, Philosophy, And Economics at Asian University For Women. From teenage, Halima believes in a world where everyone should get equal rights and opportunities at education. She is also passionate about feminism and mental health. With this flame in her heart to bring a positive change to the society, Halima taught adaptive leadership at Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center where she facilitated three projects. She has experience of working with underprivileged women and children. She is the founder and president of Peace Cafe, Asian University For Women (AUW Peace Cafe); a student led organization initiated by Centre For Peace And Justice, Brac University and supported by UN Women. AUW Peace Cafe works beyond the campus to bring a positive change in the society.

Halima aspires to be a human rights advocate, an educator and a writer in future, with a dream of pushing boundaries and bringing change to the world she currently lives in.
