" “Opportunity to speak is clearly different from making noise. Possibilities and potentials are promising,
yet the act the brings them to light are the only way to express their gravity. Millennium Fellowship will
convert much plans to reality and bring experiences that can only be appreciated for years. While it’s a
platform to do more, it will reconfigure me for more.” "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Safer Water 22

Water Sources usually Hand dug wells in Bauchi Local government of Bauchi State have been tested and often reported to contain high amount of contaminants in form of metals ions etc. and several other physiochemical parameters unsuitable for human consumption according to WHO standard for drinking water quality. This having direct and indirect impact of the health of the communities and children of course are the hardest hit in this. Awareness and orientation of locals on this health impacts have been on low levels for years.
Upon my exposure to this fact during my one-year industrial student training; I was moved with passion and sympathy to share and help the Bauchi community at large. Tis project centers on:
Creating better awareness both online and physical contact on good drinking water quality for disadvantaged homes and local communities, with contaminated water sources commonly reported in Bauchi, Bauchi State in Northeastern Nigeria.
Intimating the neighborhood with the correct practices to facilitate healthier living with supplies of strategies equipment for local water purifications from the knowledge and experience gained personally which has proven effective in handling this problem.
