Millennium Fellowship Project: Nigeria Scholars' Initiative

The Nigeria Scholars' Initiative is an association aimed at helping deserving students with financial support where possible and also sharing updates about valuable opportunities such as those for scholarships, internships and mentorship programmes.

About the Millennium Fellow

Fatima Garba Yusuf is an enthusiastic Chemical Engineering student from Bayero University, Nigeria. There, she has blazed a trail among her peers with her wonderful academic performance and volunteering work.

With some of her colleagues, they established SmartBukites, an EduTech brand, Nigeria Scholars' Initiative, a philanthropic initiative for supporting deserving students with financial help and valuable scholarship information.

She's currently the Vice President of the BUK chapter of Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), and was recently awarded the 2022 Girl-in-STEM Award. Previously, in 2021, she was awarded the Most Intelligent Student by the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association (NUESA).

Interestingly, she's a passionate 'Literary Engineer', who uses her writing talent to effect positive societal change. Her works include didactic poems, prose works and essays as well as newspaper publications. She has published a couple of books on Amazon and Okadabooks: Shirk in Disguise, a Tale of Reality and Illusion and Financial Rollercoaster, a story based on a true life story in the thick of the 2020 pandemic.
