United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. Over 31,000 young leaders on 2,400+ campuses across 140+ nations applied to join the Class of 2022.  200+ campuses worldwide (just 8%) were selected to host the 3,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Being part of the Millennium Fellowship will give me the privilege of building up my capacity in terms of leadership, management, teamwork, community-driven, networks and access to broad learning opportunities just to mention a few. This will provide a support system for me to do better at work and serve my best to improve society. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Gem Initiatives

Gem Initiatives provides ample opportunities to young local farmers in my community which helps them to connect to the right market at the right time with hitch-free and smooth dealings. The impact is that these farmers access timely funds, free agricultural extension services just to mention a few.

About the Millennium Fellow

Olawale Akinloye is a young diplomat and agricultural economics student of Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. Wale is passionate about impacting his community and people's well-being through social entrepreneurship hence, leveraging opportunities in agriculture to address the issue of poverty. As someone that has a keen background in agriculture, he's interested in exploring agric value chains that meet community needs.
Through his project, he desires to help his community become a community free from hunger and poverty. After he graduates, Wale plans to go into entrepreneurship and wouldn't mind taking job opportunities in social enterprise.
