Millennium Fellowship Project: Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP)

Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP) is the very first club of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) which has been initiated with a view to spreading environmental awareness and accomplishing environmental sustainability. It is the arena of all the nature lovers & environmental enthusiasts of BUP who seek for a cleaner, greener & better environment. The planet Earth is a sanctuary for life. Our beautiful abode is progressively losing its greenery and glory because of our anthropogenic activities. Environmental pollution and climate change is making our earth inhabitable. To revive our earth and combat the climate crisis, multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder involvement is required. That is why the Environmental Club of BUP has been established with the mission of to protect and improve the environment of our community as well as of our country by promoting awareness of the current state of the environment. The motto of this club is “Caring for Nature, Saving the Future” which unfurls the core vision of this club.

About the Millennium Fellow

Md. Muhtadimul Haque Sami is a enthusiastic, young and globally competitive sociology student at the Bangladesh University of Professionals. He was born in Habiganj, Bangladesh and resides in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is currently studying in Dhaka, Bangladesh, truly a citizen of the world. For as long as he could remember, Sami has always been passionate about minority people, Diaspora, public health, societal issues, social equality and equity, immigrant's rights and women's rights. His current research work is on a diaspora community. He is working hard on it to achieve his goal. This drive and ardour translated itself from Sami's experiences in the international community and his continuous dedication to social action. Throughout his high school and college years and currently in his university years, he has successfully organized various philanthropic projects; which through his outstanding leadership, he plans to continue in the future. Sami aspires to be in a professional field where he can cultivate these leadership quality further, and provide his own contribution in the development of the United Nations' Sustainable Goals.
